Sony’s GM2 series of lenses are pretty spectacular and this one is well worth the cost. With a focal range of 24-70mm it’s an excellent lens for medium range shooting. The auto focus is super fast and images are sharp and clear. Bokeh is smooth and wide ranging as depth of field is adjusted with f-stop. This lens is equally adept shooting still photagraphy and video. This lens is very well built and with proper care will hold it’s value for many many years. I highly recommend it.

I am using this with the A7RV body and this produces very crisp photos with a great range. I tried it first at night and didn’t need a tripod or unipod to aid with shutter speed. Very well worth the money so far, and I hope it continues to worth it down the line

Tenía mis dudas si por el precio valía más la pena una Rokinon o un Sigma, pero vale 100% la pena, ya sea para video o foto este lente es una belleza y la calidad de Sony no decepciona.

The Dustin abbot review is no joke. This lens is perfect. At first I was worried about the sharpness compared to my better primes, but the flexibility gained while still being great quality is fantastic.

This lens is a true workhorse, perfect for a wide range of shooting scenarios from portraits to landscapes.
I recently upgraded to this lens, and it has exceeded all my expectations. The image quality is exceptional, with sharpness across the entire zoom range. The f/2.8 aperture delivers beautiful bokeh and performs exceptionally well in low-light conditions, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor photography.
The build quality of the lens is top-notch, with a robust construction that feels solid and durable. Despite its high performance, it remains surprisingly compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around for extended periods. The autofocus is fast and accurate, which is crucial for capturing fleeting moments, and the lens’s optical stabilization helps to keep images sharp even at slower shutter speeds.
One of the standout features is its versatility. The 24-70mm focal length range covers a broad spectrum of shooting needs, from wide-angle landscapes to tight portraits. This makes it an ideal lens for general-purpose use, whether you’re a professional photographer or a dedicated hobbyist.
Overall, the Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II Lens is an exceptional lens that delivers superb image quality and performance. Its combination of sharpness, low-light capability, and versatility makes it a valuable addition to any camera system. Highly recommended for anyone looking to elevate their photography!

Very nice.

This lens is so light that it helps my ARV’s weight. It’s definitely expensive and I could’ve gotten a Sigma for about $700 less but I wanted to make this my main lens so I might as well go big and the best.
If you’re looking for a main lens, this one can’t be beat. Of course the 70-200m is equally amazing and outright better for portrait and other things but it’s too heavy…

Durante bastante tiempo estuve cazando este lente mas que nada por su precio, es uno de los mejores lentes, de los mas versatiles, lo consegui a un super precio y el envio fue rapido y muy seguro, ya que vino muy bien protegido, excelente compra.

Image quality and low light / speed capability superior. Great focal range from wide to short telephoto. I use mainly for landscape and travel. Great usability (buttons, placement, how it works with camera software). But, still heavy enough to be a burden to carry around everywhere if you are a minimalist. But, it’ll have to do if you want that range with low light and speed. The hood drives me nuts. Difficult to put on, always a hassle. Interior is like felt and collects all sorts of dust and pet hairs. Annoyed!
My alternative considerations, as someone who has back problems and doesn’t like to carry around a lot if stuff or bulky/heavy stuff include:
Replacing with Sony GM 16-35 2.8 when they make version 2, or my Tamron 17-28 2.8. My telephoto needs are already fullfilled with light weight hassle free Tamron 70-300 4.5-6.3, and I wouldn’t have to carry my Voigtlander 15mm. For landscape/travel/wildlife, I rarely use 35-65mm focal range (maybe 10-20% of time, and I feel like I could make those pics work if I didn’t have that focal range). However, being able to go from wide to short telephoto without changing lenses is valuable.
Replacing with Tamron 28-200 2.8-5.6, and I could leave my Tamron 70-300 4.5-6.3 home. Lose some speed and quality for convenience. Seems liberating. But in practice will cause difficulty in the longer end capturing dawn/dusk (low light), getting sharp photos without tripod, birds/wildlife frozen in action (high shutter that low aperture enables), etc.
Tamron 35-150 2-2.8 very interesting, but too heavy (~67% heavier).
Tamron 28-75 2.8 I hear is comparable. Lighter and much cheaper. I would need to test. I might miss the 24mm and possibly snappy autofocus Sony-Sony has.
Sigma 24-70 2.8. Heavier, albeit cheaper. Too heavy for me.
Good luck!

I just used this lens in low light on the wildlife loop In Custer State Park SD this morning around 7am. The images are spectacular. Bokeh as in prime 1.4 images – just that spectacular! Brighter and faster than I could have imagined – just the finest. I just ordered the 70-200mm gm ii – 2 lens, easy life.

This is an amazing lens. I never thought I would need this, but it is worth the money. I know it’s 2x the Sigma but i have an A6700 and it pairs so well with it (36-105mm FF equivalent). it’s sharp and great for sports photography (as long as you’re close enough). can’t way enough good things about this lens. it’s amazing. Well worth the money. it’s my first sony lens and i have used SIgma mostly before this. I have the 18-50mm but this lens is even better in my opinion (both are f/2.8). Anyways, this is the lens i didn’t know i needed.
