  • TAKE COMPLETE CREATIVE CONTROL: Stay discreet and remain completely immersed in the moment with XF27mmF2.8 R WR’s aperture ring, which lets you externally control your aperture, even when the camera is switched off. Not only does this feature ensure you’re always ready to frame fleeting moments, but it also minimizes mistakes with a new aperture lock button to keep the ring locked into the A position when you’re letting the camera do the work. Create with complete confidence with XF27mmF2.8 R WR at your side.
  • CREATE IN ANY CONDITION: With an extremely small and lightweight design, XF27mmF2.8 R WR is an ideal compact prime lens to carry at all times, just in case the perfect photo opportunity arises. That’s why it has been equipped with extensive weather-resistance and the ability to operate in temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C). Regardless of where you are or what you’re faced with, this lens is always ready to perform.
  • REACT IN A SPLIT SECOND: framing a fraction of a second is no easy task, so ensuring your lens is able to react as quickly as you can is a must. With a coreless DC motor that moves the whole lens group, XF27mmF2.8 R WR is capable of extremely fast, precise, and near-silent autofocus. When combined with a wide F2.8 aperture, it creates high-quality images with gorgeous background blur, even when the light is low. All this ensures that you don’t just frame the moment, you frame it beautifully.
  • PROTECT BUT DON’T PROHIBIT: Lens hoods play an important role in photography. By blocking stray light from hitting the lens at oblique angles, they help prevent flare and other forms of interference. They also offer valuable protection for the front element from inadvertent bumps that can happen while you’re immersed in creating an image. The included dome-style hood is small, compact, and finds the perfect balance between practicality and performance by minimizing uneven flash coverage or obstructions to the field of view that can occur when using larger hoods.
  • PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE WITHIN REACH: On top of so many fantastic and new features, XF27mmF2.8 R WR is even more affordable than its predecessor, making high-quality prime photography more accessible than ever. Whether you are an enthusiast taking your first steps with a prime lens, a budding street photographer looking for discreet performance, or a seasoned pro who wants a fantastic everyday option, XF27mmF2.8 R WR is the clear choice.

Very disappointed that the item sent was the older version of the 27mm lens and not the one described in the listing. The box was also very damaged, looked like it had been opened numerous times and repaired badly – not a new product box.

I shoot with a Fujifilm XT5 and in this focal length range had the 23mm f/2, which I ended up selling when I got this lens. Yes it’s slower but its size absolutely makes up for that since it transforms a body like the XT5 into a really small package– Really the difference between grabbing it on the way out the door for a possible shooting opportunity or leaving it home. Reviews about the noisy autofocus are correct, and it will give a little sound when the camera is turned on and of course when it’s autofocusing, especially in low light. I usually put a B&W clear filter on my lenses but if you’re buying this I wouldn’t jump to thinking you’ll need a protective filter right off the bat. The outer element is small and with the small included lens hood it seems pretty protected. I’m just shooting with the lens hood in place. Recommended.

Excelente lente.

Came in perfect condition, way ahead of ETA. Very happy with purchase. Would recommend buying from this seller!

I had the original version of this lens. The first generation didn’t have an aperture ring. I managed to destroy its focus motor by using the wrong lens cap, a screw in metal type. I finally decided to spring for a replacement, and haven’t regretted that decision for a minute.

This may not be the most lauded Fuji lens ever, but its format is an important element of why I love it so much. For me, not a pixel peeper, it’s tack sharp, has great contrast, fast AF, everything I really need. But it wouldn’t play such an important role in my photographic life if it wasn’t so tiny! It makes a huge difference to be able to pocket the entire camera. My next bigger lens, in terms of form factor, is the 35mm f2, and I use that one a lot. But the 27mm is the starting point. For street photography, the focal length is perfect for me, and it doesn’t look intimidating, so people are more likely to see you as a harmless tourist. Unfortunately, it seems to take them forever to get these shipped these days. I had to wait for my copy for many months.

This is a bright little lens. It is easy carry and works very well with Fujifilm X system cameras.
Many reviewers and expert Fujifilm users have had great comments about this lens.
There are also some reviewers (and pseudoreviewers) who dislike this lens.
That is to be expected and should not deter anyone who really needs this lens for their specific needs.
It is quite enjoyable to use.

I have many Fujifilm lenses, including both the f/1.4 and f/2.0 versions of the 23mm and 35mm lenses, giving a full frame equivalent of 35mm and 50mm. Often, I’ll go out with only one lens, and will mentally debate with myself on which to take. I can be productive with either, but I can over-annalize on which would be best. The 27mm is right in that middle ground sweet spot and if you are out in good light, it can do the job of either of the other two with a bit of up and back movement.

The lens is petite, almost toy-like compared to my f/1.4 lenses but only in terms of size. The optics and functionality are up to Fujifilm standards. The addition of the aperture ring is what let me pull the trigger on this lens. I could not function without the ability to look down and set my f-stop for the scene before lifting the camera to compose, so the first generation was a non-starter for me. Additionally, they added a tiny lens hood for some physical protection as well as keeping stray light off the front element, but only for shallow angles. They include two caps, one spring loaded squeeze type for the lens alone, and a slip on type for going over the hood.

One downside thing… the AF motor is the same first generation type from the original 27mm. It works fine on my X-T3, X-pro2 and X-E3, but there is audible sound. I never shoot video, ever, so I am not going to drop a star off the rating for this. If video is a big deal for you, this lens might not be the best choice.

I am including a photo to show the size advantage on an X-pro2 next to a smaller X-E2s with a conventional lens. The size and performance will make this lens a key player for outdoor street and travel photography. I’m glad I bought it.

Added edit March 29th: I have now taken this lens out on several real world excursions and have shot well over 1000 images. This use reinforces my initial testing results… this is a terrific lens! On my X-Pro2, this lens is like an extension of my eye. I just find myself in the right spot before lifting the camera. The results (sharpness, contrast, color, etc…) make me smile when I return and look at the images on a big screen. Absolutely no regrets on this purchase.

    It’s worth it!

I bought this lens because of its WR designation. As soon as I put this lens on my X-T2 and looked through the viewfinder, I noticed it’s sharpness. A metal hood is included in the box, which is a must against flares.

I used to own the older version (non-weatherized) but it was not as sharp as this newer version is. Of course, the autofocus is better (though still a bit noisy) and the aperture ring on the lens is very useful. Also, I like the 40mm fov. It does not distort faces as the 35mm fov lens does.

Pancake design makes it easier to carry. Construction and build quality of this les up to par with other XF lenses. To keep low-profile, I am using a Cokin 39mm slim UV filter and when needed I couple that with a Cokin 39mm slim circular polarizer filter. That really helps in cutting down glare. Also, CP filter increases contrast in portrait photography.

    I wholeheartedly recommend this lens.
