If you just want an underwater drone for poking around at your local body of water this one is fun. Not 4K but 1080p and that’s actually fine. Easy to connect to the phone and easy to control. Wishing the buoy had something I could attach it to my boat with but some epoxy and a ring will solve that. The drone itself is really compact. Like travel size compact. The setup for inside a small backpack and I can see myself taking this up to small lakes while hiking to see what’s under the water. Maybe you’ll find a lost city. You’ll probably just see a trout. And that’s ok. If you’re on a budget I’d recommend this one. If you’ve got another few hundred or more to spend, get a larger model with longer battery life. This one has an hour in it but if you’re careful you can baby it and maximize the life. Internal memory is sufficient for the 1080p. Recommended. 4205

IF YOUR GOING TO USE YOUR DRONE IN FRESH WATER, MAKE SURE YOU GET A FRESH WATER WEIGHT WITH YOUR UNIT. THERE NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE AND I CAN’T SEEM TO GET OONE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE DOES NOT PERFORM WITH OUT IT. WILD BILL.

Updated to 5 stars because the app crashing issue was quickly addressed by the manufacturer.
Love this drone as it seems really well designed. I am using an iPhone 14 Pro Max connected to the remote controller. This all works beautifully for about 3 to 5 minutes and then the app crashes and causes the phone to reboot. After reboot I re launch the app and continue and then crash/reboot again. I have contacted the App maker but it looks like the crash/reboot issue on iOS has been happening for awhile. Unfortunately, I will probably have to return this product. I will wait a few days in hope of a response.

The Chasing Gladius Mini Underwater Drone really is an excellent way to explore the depths! It has an impressive 100m maximum depth which is around 330ft. The cord that connects the drone to the controller is 100m too, so you hardly need to worry about running out of cord at all while you are using it. When you first open everything up, you should charge it first before you use it. This is so the battery can last as long as possible for the life of the drone and because you will not want to stop using it. It has around 2 hours of usage and if you ever run out, it is connected to the cord so you can just pull it out of the water. The drone goes a maximum of 2m/s which is very fast for something like this. To match its speed, it has excellent maneuverability and can even adjust its tilt angle by 45 degrees. This is done by rolling the scroll wheels on the bottom of the trigger buttons on the controller. You can then lock this position and its depth using one of the buttons on the face of the controller. This drone is extremely easy to control and it’s a ton of fun to drive. There is little delay between the live stream of what the drone sees, and what is being displayed on your phone/tablet. The camera quality is excellent. It is definitely a 4k camera, and you can adjust the bitrate that it streams and records at. The photos have excellent sharpness in the middle, but it falls off towards the edges of the photo significantly. This is expected with a camera that is as wide as this one and stops down to F3.0. It will be good in low light, but not so much around the edges which is a tradeoff that I am willing to take. There are also two 1200-lumen LED lights which get super bright at night. The app is easy to navigate, and you can adjust everything you need to within it. You can manually adjust the ISO and the bitrate for the video. It automatically detects when the phone is connected to the WIFI of the remote which livestreams the video of the drone to the phone. It is a bit grainy when live streaming, but it gets the job done and is clear enough to make out good detail. When you save the video, it is crystal clear. You can also pick and choose which videos you want to download to your phone or tablet.
It also comes with a backpack that fits everything! It was a bit tricky getting everything in there, but it is all padded and very secure once you get it all in the bag. Overall, this is such a cool drone and I plan to use this in the ocean and some local lakes to see what I can find in places that I cannot go!
