This works great with my camera. The quality is so clear and it makes it so much easier to continue my photography dream. This is definitely worth the buy.

Lente muito boa que essa moça tecnologia RF da Canon faz você parecer que está andando por aí com uma lente Premium!

I needed a new lens to go with my new camera. This lens is a prime lens and at 50 mm gives me the ability to take great photos at a static image.

good lens for the price

I am new to photography and wanted a lens that I didn’t have to worry about focus and zoom. This is a great lens for portrait pictures. I mostly use my camera for pictures of my kids/family.
I will eventually upgrade to a zoom lens, but for now this is great. You just have to move closer and further to your subject to get the correct distance for your shot. It is also much cheaper than a zoom lens. Definitely enough to get a great photo!

The lens is well made and does an excellent job. I wanted a ‘nifty fifty’ prime lens but, because of my lack of understanding, what I ended up with is an 80mm fixed focus lens. I did not fully understand the differences of the Canon R series cameras; i.e., image sensors and lens types.
RF and RF-S lenses work interchangeably. However, an RF lens is intended to be used on a camera with a full frame sensor. And, likewise, a RF-S lens is designed for a camera with an APS-C sensor. Again, while both types are interchangeable, I unwittingly bought this RF type lens for my EOS R camera that has an APS-C sensor. When you mix these apples and oranges, a conversion needs to be made. There is a crop factor of 1.6x difference when a Canon full frame lens (RF) is mated to an APS-C body. Thus, this 50mm prime lens effectively becomes 80mm (50mm x 1.6 crop factor).
It’s nice to have learned all of this because Canon has an amazing selection of R lenses. I retuned this lens and purchased the ‘Canon RF28mm F2.8 STM Lens, RF Mount, Wide-Angle, for Full-Frame Cameras’. Indeed, I purchased another RF lens for my APS-C camera but on purpose this time. Using the 1.6x crop factor, it works out to be about a 45mm and that gets me close to that 50mm I was wanting. One day, when I upgrade to a full frame body, I will have already bought myself a wide-angle lens. As a novice, this has been a good learning experience.

This was my first non kit rf lens and it hasn’t disappointed so far. Easy to use, just attach and shoot. Let’s in plenty of light so I can keep my iso low and shutter high. I am happy with the images I have gotten so far. Easy to pack away and super light so I don’t feel like I am breaking my wrist to keep the camera facing up

昔からのこのラインナップは名機と言えますが、RFに変わってもその解像力は落ちません。素晴らしいコスパのレンズです。

At first, the camera didn’t appear to be as bright or fast. That was because the stock 24-50mm f 4.5 isn’t that great. I decided to get a 50mm f 1.8 and the camera operates just as fast as my prior cameras. I still think It’s worth getting the kit if you still want a wireless shutter remote, tripod, monopod, and microphone. If you are going to be filming 4k beyond 24fps, you will have to get a UHS II card. It’s so much nicer having a full frame sensor.

Es un excelente lente, su apertura 1.8 te permite trabajar de manera fácil sin necesidad de siempre requerir flash.

It is so compact and light. Takes descent portraits, sharp enough and 1.8 gets nice bokeh. For this price you can’t go wrong. I think this lens use to be cheaper but can’t complain. It is not L glass but I don’t have to be so careful with it. Just have fun shooting.

This is a great first lens for anyone getting into the Canon RF system. It really helps you take amazing photos and the focal length teaches you to see composition and shoot properly. This is the first lens everyone should own.
It is light and quick to focus. It is tack sharp at all apertures and the control ring can be set to a variety of options.
This is my favorite lens and I love it.

I added this to my Canon EOS RP. I already have a lens that came with the camera, but this one works great! Very clear pics from this.
