Both the macro portion and the wide angle portion works as advertised
The macro portion can be partnered with extension tubes to get really close focussing distance.

It is a good lens and the price reflected the value. I was expecting more, such as ability to mount on more than one lens, but it works and gives decent quality photos.

This is an ultra solid optical lens! Takes in an entire swath of an interior room. Also handy if you’re shooting or making a vlog and your camera can’t be mounted further away from subjects, as the lens ‘backs off’ the image. I use it in my studio for shooting vlogs as I don’t want my face to scare off my viewers.

I was gifted a Nikon D5300 for christmas. I have always wanted to shoot Macro so I ordered this to get my feet wet to see if I wanted to buy a true Macro lens. In the camera setup I was given it included a AF-P 18-55 lens and an old school AF-S 55-200 it works with the AF-S and fits perfectly but the thread size on the newer lens is 55mm so I am going to buy a step down ring adapter instead of sending this back and ordering the 55mm model. I even researched how to find your thread size and found it is on the inside of the lense cover, turns out that is not always true on my lens cover it clearly says 52mm, WRONG not with the newer AF-P 18-55mm lens. 55mm threads all day long. Can’t speak to the picture quality of this macro adapter yet but it seems to be made very well and is metal not plastic.

Pensé mucho en comprar este adaptador, ya que los lentes Macro son carísimos. En mi caso, tengo una Canon R100, y pensaba en comprarme un lente 10-18 mm pero está carísimo. Vi esta opción basándome en algunos comentarios y en las imágenes de muestra en los anuncios del producto. La verdad es que si cumple con ampliar el campo de la toma fotográfica, sin embargo, no queda una imagen por completo amplia y cuadrada, se ve como si fuera un ojo de pez además de que los bordes del mismo lente salen en la fotografía. Conclusión: si quieres un macro que no salga con efecto ojo de pez y no se vean los bordes en la fotografía, ahorra para el lente 10-18mm, que es lo que yo haré. Si no te importa el efecto ojo de pez y que se vean los bordes en cada foto, adelante, cómprate este “lente”. Los materiales y el cuerpo del “lente” se sientes durables, ni de baja calidad ni de alta calidad.

On a R100 it works great at 22mm+, although if you zoom out you’ll see a vignette. The vignette can look great as a stylistic approach! Great value for the price!

So what do you get for 28 bucks?
I am a pro and thought i would give this a try before i go and drop 5 large on a real wide angle lens.
The Good:
Pretty nice glass for the money, in the pic with the wire rim of my readers the glass is pretty clear, better than i expected for the money for the macro only part. Given you are putting another layer of glass between your subject and the sensor i could see using this now and again. It did mess with the AF a little so I switched to MF and simply moved the camera closer till i got the focus point I wanted.
Doesn’t take a lot of light away.
As for the wide angle, well it’s ok. If I zoom up a little to get rid of the vignetting it seems to have mostly a usable area but……
Now for the Bad:
The focus drops off severely around the outer edges and there is some color aberrations to contend with along the edges as well. My pics have un-cropped/uncorrected, cropped/uncorrected, useable cropped/uncorrected, un-cropped/corrected at the 18-55 and finally un-cropped/corrected using the canon 8mm correction in adobe PS CS6. You can judge for yourself. As a pro I will toss this in the bag and I could see using it in an unrestrained crop situation but it’s usefulness is limited at 16:9 crop.
Like I said, for 28 bucks what the hell, the macro works pretty well, the glass is great for the money and it could come in handy in some situations.

Be aware this is a 52 mm thread to lens , not body. The macro can be taken off but will not thread without it. I installed it on a Minolta mnd30 camera, and it work amazing. Gave the camera a total upgrade and better perception. Great lens. Good packing. Ok storage pouch. Makes a medium camera ,next level .
