My kids LOVE this camera. The quick thermal print, the markers to color with, ease of use menu, it’s a fun toy for kids. Super awesome for day to day but really extra fun at parties and events to hand out live photos. It also has games and a video recording function. It came fully charged with 3 rolls of thermal paper, markers, charger, neck strap, and instructions. Very fun, super cool!

I ordered this for my 13 year old. She uses the pictures and makes scrapbooks. It isn’t fancy, no bells or whistles, but it is exactly what it says it is.
It perhaps could be my misperception, but the screen is a bit smaller than it appears to me in pictures. It isn’t a problem. It doesn’t impact functionality, it’s just different than expected is all.
It’s easy to use, even loading the paper. It takes the picture it takes. Staying still and having good lighting definitely helps.
We really like it and would order it again if the need arose.

Overall, this is an excellent choice for kids seeking a fun and creative way to capture memories. This instant camera is sure to bring joy and nostalgia to a kids life.
Its light weight with a neck strap, easy to handle and user-friendly interface make it a joy to use.
One of the cool feature is that it can also be used as a regular digital camera without printing pictures all the time. Picture quality is pretty good specialy for portrait pics. My kids love this and are so excited to use and have fun with it. A nice camera/toys for kids to have.

I was like a kid on Christmas when this very cool camera came. Mind you, it is not for me but for my young photography clients. Does this design remind you of anything? Immediate flash back to my very first instant camera when I was twelve, which was a Polaroid I had saved all my money for, to capture Summer camp fun, which we certainly had. This will be the prize Summer camp camera of today, with so much more to enjoy. This will be a hit with my little photography clients. They can keep their parents busy while I set up to take their photos.
The camera comes all set to go. Pop it out of the box and hand off to your kid and he/she will later educate you about all the latest technology. Each camera came with:
1) Completely charged battery, plus USB cable for recharging
2) Inserted and formatted 32 GB SD card
3) 1 already loaded paper roll and 2 extra rolls for when the first runs out.
4) Fun sized little color marker pack for coloring in their photos
5) Cable for computer transfers and for charging
Just power the camera on and it is ready to take photos or video or to play games or music, which I tried doing everything – much fun. Replacing the paper roll also resembles old Polaroids with their front-loading paper tray.
Open the front tray while sitting over a desk to catch the roll of paper, if there is any left. When you shut the tray, there should be an edge of the paper roll still peeking out of the printer slot.
To give an idea of the print photo quality, here are some photos of the paper printed instant photos I took while using this camera. Both of these paper prints are on the darkest density setting: The top is the Grey scale setting while the bottom is the Dot Matrix setting. To also give an idea about the digital photo quality, I took photos of the paper prints using both this HiMont kids camera and also my little Flip Video camera, which I have been using for reviews up til now but I’m thinking I might switch over to using this HiMont kids camera from now on.
Because the printed photos are black & white, I decided to capture a black & white image: The piano keys right over 2 piano purses. I am including photos of the HiMont paper prints as well as the original digital photos captured by both cameras, for comparison. I also am including my regular Flip video camera still of an outside building at dusk, next to a digital image of the same thing taken with the toy camera, also for quality comparison. Already, the toy camera has clearly better auto-focus and a bit more color range. It also has a bit more contrast.
This toy camera does have a flash which can be used for both photos and for video. I am including a video of some trees and bushes at night I took with the HiMont camera. You will hear a beep and notice a slight lighting difference for when I turn the flash on and then off again. My verdict: I am blown away. This camera is such a cool gadget! So much so I bought a 2nd camera to have on hand because I know the kids will get carried away. If there is more than 1 kid present, they won’t want to take turns.

My daughter has a digital camera, but we have never once printed the pictures off it. She wants to have a picture to hold or give away right as she takes it. I was looking at a polaroid type camera for her, but she wants to take a LOT of pictures and we would go through film way too fast – that is too expensive. This is PERFECT. The pictures it prints aren’t this high def quality – it’s black and white and thermal printing, kind of like the machines/rides at chuck e cheese – but that’s all she needs. The roll will last for a long time, she can take as many as she wants without worrying about “film” or ink running out – this is really perfect who a young kid to have fun with. She is SO excited about it. Definitely recommend.

This camera is pretty awesome for being a little kids toy camera. My 9 year old loves it. I don’t think I would give it to any kid younger than 5. The screen is pretty clear, it has many different settings and options. When you take a picture, it immediately prints the picture on thermal paper. It comes with three rolls of the stuff. I think it would take a long time for a kid to use up all that paper. Based on my experience with these types of toys, the camera will probably break before the paper runs out. That’s just my pessimistic side coming out. You can play games on it. The games are fun enough to keep a kid busy on long-ish car rides and luckily, you can turn off the sound. You can also play music and take videos with the camera. The speaker isn’t great so trying to watch the videos using the camera isn’t a great experience. Although, the mic works well enough so when you watch the videos on a computer the sound comes through fine. Listening to Mp3 on the camera is not great but little kids seem to not mind it. They just think it’s cool that they can play music. It also comes with some really cheap markers. I suppose they are for coloring the pictures. The thermal paper doesn’t absorb the marker ink well so it will stay wet for a while. I don’t really recommend using them. Overall, this is a great gift to give a young child.
